ART AT CRAIGIEBURN SOUTH PRIMARY SCHOOL .

The students at Craigieburn South Primary school are given the opportunity to express themselves through visual images and design in their art classes.

Art is an important outlet for children where they develop confidence and self worth as they express themselves through their creations.

Our focus is on the process not the end product, hence the program offers students the opportunities to explore and experiment with many different materials. This challenges the students to use a range of equipment and tools in different ways to express themselves.

Each grade has one period of art each week where skills are taught and built upon. The art program covers painting, construction, printing, drawing,  modelling,  mixed media, collage and threads and textiles.

An Arts Bright Futures program  is available for gifted students who have displayed creative ability in their art classes. The aim of the Bright Futures program is to provide experiences that will encourage the students to change their ways of looking at things so that they perceive underlying patterns and possibilities for creative combinations. The program also aims to encourage the students to develop their creative styles.

At Monday lunch time the art room is open to the grade five and six students to create artworks.

The school Art Show will occur in Term 4 on the 8th and 9th of November. Opening night will be on Wednesday 8th November. The students’ artwork will be on display,  the choir will perform and supper will be provided.
